A beach cleaning day in the Cerrano Protected Marine Area thanks to volunteers and MARLISCO

On Sunday, 23rd of March 2014, the annual Initiative Océanes event, organized by the Surfrider Foundation, took place at the Torre del Cerrano Marine Protected Area (Italy). Initiative Océanes is a volunteering initiative aiming at monitoring and cleaning the beaches all around the world and it’s more than 20 years old by now. Around 100 volunteers, mostly youngsters, together with various associations, took actively part to the event promoted by the Province of Teramo and the Torre del Cerrano Marine Protected Area, passionately cleaning for an active contribution to our seas.

The Province of Teramo organized a temporary information desk in order to illustrate the various initiatives promoted by the FP7 Project MARLISCO, MARine Litter in Europe Seas: Social AwarenesS and CO-Responsibility, in Italy. Particular attention was given to the MARLISCO ART CONTEST: 1st International award "Art of Marine Litter" and to the coming Italian Marine Litter Exhibition, which will be arranged in Teramo on the 4th of April at the Province of Teramo library reading room in Delfico Street during the MARLISCO video-contestaward ceremony.

The Province of Teramo and the MARLISCO Project support all Sea lovers!
